I have enjoyed sound recording on and off for more than 15 years now but the trouble with age is that I lose frequency's - I couldn't (clearly) hear the interference you were talking about (too high and beyond my range now I assume). Makes me wonder if I am wasting my time sound recording now....

This MKH 8040 mic is over a grand . Surely this makes a big difference? But saying this both audio recorders sound virtually identical. Great video though.

The differences : - one recorder seems to have a "low-cut" - less rumble like sound- , wider image, less depth, sound easier to use - the other recorder: more depth, narrower stereo image, more accurate timbre, lower bass or « rumble like » (more work to do on mix time). Notes : scene 1: B larger, low cut scene 2 : B more accurate timbre of rooster crowing scene 3 : B low cut A more bass scene 4 : A more bass, B wider more accurate, pfff hard to feel scene5 : A wider, low cut, B more depth… to short to be sure scene 6 : A more depth, B closer flat image scene 7 : B more accurate timbre ? Very different bird call, more depth, I don't know which bird flight noise I prefer between A and B, Sorry for my English

I have had an A10 for years great little recorder very clean pre-amps if you use something like the LOM MikroUši. I use it as a stealth recorder because you can just toss it in a bag or your pocket with the LOMS on a hat and monitor lev directly on the phone app. Sony should really make MKII versions of all there classic recorders, but they seem asleep at the wheel as to what we all want. But def the little A10 is a great compact recorder.

do you know if after a bad start, ZOOM M4 is a great recorder now ?

Sir I have a quick question. Do buttons have sound when you click on them? I mean does it make any beep sound like other recorders? I do have one but it seems that it does not have that kind of sound when you click a button.

Great video, thank you once again for what you do! :) I am using a similar setup (DPA 4560 + Zoom F3) and I am doing great. But I'm trying to figure out how to limit the wind sensitivity (or it would be better to say "air shifts") because these microphones are very very sensitive even if you walk at an average speed. In my opinion, this is the only shortcoming of the DPA 4560s. Has anyone found workarounds to solve this problem? Like wearing a woolen hat (not possible in summer btw) or something similar. DPA has never put out any wind muffs for such small capsules :(
